A Vessel Useful to the Master, GEH

I received the Lord Jesus as my Savior at the age of 16. Since then I was captivated by His beauty and constrained by His love. After awhile, I could confess with my mouth that I was willing to do whatever He asked me to do; I was willing to go wherever He'd lead me. At that time I did not realize what I was telling Him, but the Lord is the knower of hearts (Acts 1:24) and He knew that I was sincere. This experience preserved me during my youth. At the age of 25 I married a brother, a man who loves the Lord Jesus and together we wanted to serve the Lord. However, we did not know what was the meaning of being useful to God (even though this was our desire). Today we are attending the Full-Time Training in Anaheim for middle age. The Lord had mercy on us by bringing us here to be molded, trained, and perfected (Philippians 1:6) in order to become a vessel useful to the Master as it says in 2 Timothy 2:21. During this short time of training, we have realized that serving the Lord of Lords is not a small thing; in fact, it is an important thing that requires a lot of fellowship with the Lord. This is one of the areas with more emphasis in the training. We have specific times of prayer, three times a day. This leads me to seek the Lord in an intimate way and it develops in me a habit for the rest of my life. The desire to gain more of the Lord, to love Him, and even to know His truths, and being sanctified is not enough; I also need to consider my character. The training has helped me in a great way to deal with my character. I have worked on my schedule. I rise up early every morning and I go to bed at a specific time to have the proper rest. I have learned to be punctual and I have realized that being diligent is indispensable.

I cannot say that coming to the Full-Time Training and staying here is an easy matter, because it requires dealing directly with the soul-life. The Lord Jesus said, “For whoever wants to save his soul-life shall lose it; but whoever loses his soul-life for My sake shall find it.” (Matthew 16:25)
